Mirrors Get Smarter on Ford Escape

You may not think much about side view mirrors on a car. Ford not only spent time taking a close look at theirs, but even developed new designs for the mirrors on upcoming Ford Escape models. They have "developed an elliptical acoustic mirror," according to the Detroit Free Press.1
What exactly is an elliptical acoustic mirror? They are designed to reduce wind noise, thus give you a quieter interior. Each blocks noise "hot spots" where wind or road vibrations generally break through. By deflecting these distractions, driver and passengers can listen to music, GPS directions, or have conversations in peace.
2013 Escape models heading to Finish Line Ford in Peoria, IL will come with these additions standard.
Why the Ford Escape? Well, it seems Escape will be the American auto maker's guinea pig at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, displaying a slew of technological advances. These redesigned mirrors, as well as other fun gadgets coming to the auto show Escape, are typical on high end foreign models. Ford once again makes the luxurious accessible to all drivers.
