Ford Hits NAIAS with New Tech

Ford hit the 2012 Detroit Auto Show with a ton of updated vehicles and fun technologies. They want to remind fans that green tech may be hip, but no one has forgotten about performance or safety. Production versions of all cars will stop by Finish Line Ford in Peoria, IL throughout the year.

2013's Ford Mustang now includes the option to add GT500 trim. If you choose to go GT, be prepared for 650-horsepower and over 600 lb-ft of torque!

Ecoboost engines will now be available on most models too. Fans at the auto show were able to see this powerplant up close, with full engine displays, as well as flipped cars - propped up on their sides to reveal updated exhaust and suspensions.

Ford Fusion will go all electric in 2013, along with possible electric variants of Focus. Ford has an "emphasis on weight relative to MPG" that "might be taking the lead in 2012," adds Torque News.1
